Run the Race

BACKGROUND

New Testament Philippians3:12-21

Paul, was an apostle who wrote 13 books in the Bible. In this book, Philippians, he was writing to the people in Philippi, where he visited as a missionary to spread the gospel.

STORY

Paul is using a metaphor to explain life. The metaphor is about running a race like a marathon. He is equating life as to finish the race. To do that one needs endurance, strength, and discipline.

LESSON

Jesus has set an example of how to run a life marathon. The Bible tells us that Jesus, for the joy that was set before him, and the cross despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God in heaven. He has completed the race in life . It is to have eternal life with God which is the grand prize for winning. This is pretty deep, but I tried to translate what he was saying to the people in Philippi the best I could. 💕
