SCRIPTURE
Philippians 4:13 New Testament
"I can do all things through God who strengthens me."
LESSON
The apostle Paul wrote about 13 books in the New Testament some of them were letters to the early Christian churches like Rome and Corinth, and in this case Philippi. I need to give a little background on the apostle Paul. The early part of Paul's adult life he was hunting Christians down, persecuting them or killing them. But then he was converted on the road to Damascus to be a missionary for Jesus. He traveled thousands upon thousands of miles either by foot or by boat to spread God's message of salvation through Jesus. Along the way of these journeys he suffered tremendously. He was beaten, stoned, shipwrecked, imprisoned, bitten by a viper, and experienced much hunger, thirst, and unthinkable stress. But God spared him throughout it all. He persevered.
So knowing all that, let's revisit the scripture, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
What it DOESN'T mean is that you become a superhero and can do anything--become rich and successful under your own selfish desires for example. Or "poof" become a rock star.
What it does mean is despite hardships and maybe sufferings, if you persevere in your belief and love for Jesus, God will get you through them and like Paul, you can endure.
Keep your eyes and heart focused on Jesus.💕
